Centre approves COVID-19 vaccines, but opposition puts politics over health? | The Newshour Debate

On The Newshour Special Edition with Swati Joshi, we get some of the clearest, insightful, accurate viewpoints by the minds behind COVID-19 vaccine rollout. DCGI, today, approved two Coronavirus vaccines Serum Institute’s Covishield and Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin for emergency use.
But as India waits for COVID-19 vaccine rollout, opposition parties strike a sour note and questioned the relevancy of Bharat Biotech's vaccine Covaxin. However, the Central Government has now come out and allayed all fears after doubt was raised over the vaccine.
While sharing views on the COVID-19 vaccine rollout row, Principal Scientific Advisor of Government, K Vijaya Raghavan says that ‘Our infrastructure has been experienced in dealing with vaccination programmes which are large’. While, AIIMS Director, Randeep Guleria says that ‘We now have 2 vaccines and these vaccines are made in India. Therefore, it gives us a lot of confidence that they will be safe for our population’.
