NCERT claims no proof for Aurangzeb's grant; Was history taught wrong? | The Newshour Agenda

On The Newshour Agenda, Padmaja Joshi takes up the hoax in the textbooks which have been exposed now. Mughal emperor Aurangzeb ruled most parts of the Indian sub-continent for close to half a century. The emperor has been glorified in the NCERT's class 12th books of rebuilding the temples that he once ordered to tore down. However, NCERT has now claimed that they have no information on the source of Mughal emperors issuing grants to rebuild the temples. The hoax has been exposed because the claim was challenged in an RTI, which was filed last year. The pressure is now being mounted on the NCERT and the government to course-correct.
