Electromyography (EMG) in Sport and Exercise Science
Muscles are clearly used in all types of sport and exercise. But how is muscle activity measured? Here, Dr Callum Osler from the University of Derby gives an introduction to surface electromyography (EMG). This technique is used to record the electrical activity that brings about muscle contraction. Callum introduces the technique before briefly describing a number of potential uses within the field of sport and exercise science
