11. Family Time & Chill Days w No Agenda ⁄ December Daily

Hello, and first of all- Merry Christmas!
I've stayed up so late it's past midnight and officially Christmas day. As I grow older, holidays certainly change in both experience and meaning. It's becoming more and more about family, the time spent, and less about the relentless looking forward to/guessing what my presents might be. I think it's really normal as kids though- to value material items and objects of entertainment, because that's what they're there for- for us to have fun with! Which is why there are different stages of life- one where I used to be obsessed with a DS my stepdad got me for Christmas, and couldn't put down for one second.
I am lucky to have received multiple gifts each Christmas growing up, and I could say I'm very satisfied in that category, and I look more forward to our holiday meals, conversations, and just catching up. It's really endearing to hear us burst out in laughter together, over any little silly thing. Family is something I've learned to love, because it wasn't always (and still isn't) a beautiful, glowing picture. It never will be, and doesn't have to be- not for us to enjoy the moment, savor our daily blessings and the beauty there is in front of us.
As you may have noticed, this is the very first video my dad is fully shown in! He's been really shy in the past (about his physical state after chemotherapy, and losing all his hair.) His hair's grown back, and he's been really well compared to before! I think it's actually 2 years ago during Christmas when there were so many loving comments pouring in, wishing my dad to get well soon in his cancer treatment. I got to say, one of the biggest events that has taught me, changed me, is my dad getting cancer. It was very painful for all of us, but something I grew from in so many ways. And I'm grateful for that.
But yes! I know my dad is quite an elusive figure, there are questions about him- I refer to him as my Dad, and my biological father as my bio dad. He's American (with Scottish and German heritage, so he has his kilt on many times throughout the year- and why going to Scotland was so important and meaningful for me this summer)
Tomorrow morning, we will all wake up and gather around downstairs again. I'm in a situation where I'm up late and hungry again... the dilemma of eat or not eat ? sleep it off until breakfast ? ah...
