Your emails can lead to spam complaints, tank your deliverability and even cause you to be fined stick around and I'll show you how to avoid all of that and keep your email list. Healthy and engaged, I'm Eric from strategy email and if you want to keep your email campaigns compliant and maintain a strong sender reputation, today's video is a must watch. I'm going to dive deep into how to add an unsubscribing link to clavio, step by step. First things first, why is it so important to have an unsubscriber link in your emails? Not only, is it required by law like the can span act, but it also protection barriers reputation to easily allow your subscribers to opt out. If they're no longer just in your content this helps to avoid spam complaints and keeps your list. Clean leading to better engagement and deliverability. Now let's get on to it. We're here at the clavio homepage, we're going to go to campaigns We're going to create a campaign. Click continue. I'm going to send this to my entire email list. I'm going to turn on tracking, I'm going to click this button next. I'm going to call this unsub want unsub1, preview is unsub now that we have the preview text done, I'm going to get a template I'm going to use this template. What we're going to do is we're going to go down to the footer, most of the time you see unsubscribes in the footer there's a few ways you can do this. The first one is type it in manually because we're going to put curly bracket percentage sign space. Unsubscribe. The important part about unsubscribe, is that it is all lowercase Case Matters. When it comes to personalization. If you want to have the text read, click here to unsubscribe, we're going to put a single apostrophe. And then, 

Click here to unsub. Scribe. We're gonna put the one more apostrophe we're gonna do a space. We're going to do a percentage sign, and then we're going to do the end curly bracket. You put whatever you like your customer to see right here as long as they are between the two apostrophes. If you don't want to have any anchor text, that's totally fine, too. You can just remove it. The important part if you remove it is that there's one space between the unsubscribe and the percentage sign. I'm going to click add of here and then I'm going to preview. 
So if we scroll down, it says unsubscribe here. Instead of typing out manually, what you can do is you can go up here to the top row where it says personalization Click that personalization and you can type in unsubscribe and you can click that once and it will insert that unsubscribe part for you. Again, if you want to add in your own anchor text, you can do that with the apostrophes or the single quotes on Scribe here. 
Personalized. And then again, I'm going to see what it looks like. We're going to say preview and test. 
Scroll down and it says, unsubscribe here personalized. You just added and unsubscribe to your footer. Now, you can add it anywhere. You'd like, I know that there are people who do put in the header, but most people put it in the footer, make sure the link is visible. There are some people who try to obfuscate the unsubscribe button by making it blurry. You never want to do that, it looks very shady and make sure it looks good on mobile. So let's do that. As you can see, desktop looks good. How does it look on mobile mobile? Looks perfectly fine. Another thing you want to make sure of is that it's not around anything else. That's clickable So as you can see, there's nothing clickable right here. You should be fine if you want to go a step further in unsubscribing, you can go ahead and customize the unsubscribe page clavia allows you to create a branded experience versus subscribers.
