Day 7: Icon of the Seas Maiden Voyage (Part 1) #shorts
Welcome to Day 7 aboard the Maiden Voyage of Icon of the Seas!
We were so excited to be at Perfect Day at CocoCay today. It was our first time here at Royal Caribbean’s Private Island.
After a quick bite at Pearl Cafe, we made our way off the ship. It was funny to see huge Icon looks next to Mariner of the Seas.
We headed first to Thrill Waterpark since we purchased the All-Day Pass. A good tip for excursions and tickets in general is to be sure to monitor the price, especially around holidays. We originally booked for $161 per person but later saw the waterpark offered for $104 per person, so we cancelled and rebooked to get the better price!
We had so much fun, and these slides were no joke! I started off with Daredevil’s peak, the tallest water slide in North America. (Do I say wedgie after?)
Andy and I had a lot of fun on the slides where you could race each other. First on the Manta Raycers, and later on Splash Speedway, which you go down headfirst!
I think the most thrilling of the slides was the Dueling Demons Drop Slide, a bit more intense than the drop slide on Icon but pretty dang close!
We then headed over to the Oasis Lagoon to enjoy the pool and swim up bar. The water was absolutely freezing!! But we had snow on the ground when we left home so this was nothing to complain about!
After a bit we headed to Chill Grill for some lunch, which is a complimentary buffet. I really enjoyed the Cuban sandwich.
The rest of the afternoon was spent in Chill Island at the beach. We grabbed some chairs in the shade, went into the water for a bit, and then relaxed before going back to the buffet for some ice cream.
We started to slowly make our way back to the ship at this point, and I was so excited because I spotted Rover up ahead, Royal’s Chief Dog Officer on Icon of the Seas.
Once back on board, we headed to the Lemon Post Bar in Surfside to try their Lil’ Sailors drink I kept seeing. It’s non alcoholic and looks like a Capri sun but it’s so cute I had to try one. It was $5 and really delicious!
We then scouted a spot in The Hideaway pool to watch Sailaway. It was such a perfect spot to watch and although we were getting sad the trip was coming to an end, we had such a good time!
Back in our room we had our final piece of swag from the trip – a nice picture of the ship – and we got ready for dinner. On our way there, we saw Rover again, and I was so happy to get a picture!
Dinner tonight was at Chops Grille located in Central Park. We paid just about $150 for the two to eat here, which is definitely pricey, but we love this restaurant – it’s on every single ship in the Royal fleet.
We then went to the 1400 lobby bar for one last cocktail and went through our photos on the app to decide which ones we wanted to purchase. We spent $25 per photo. We then went back to the room and start packing up since we were getting off the ship early the next day.
But what an iconic sailing it has been – thanks for following along!
And if you want to sail on Icon of the Seas or any of Royal Caribbean’s other ships, I am a travel agent and it’s completely free to work with me so feel free to reach out.
