Last time we were there, WWII veteran Bill Casassa shared parts of his story for the very first time, a story of courage, survival, and history coming full circle.

Born in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, Bill joined the Army Tank Destroyers at just 18 years old. He landed in France the day after his 19th birthday and fought 171 straight days through the Rhineland, Ardennes, and Central Europe campaigns.

When the atomic bomb was dropped, Bill said it “gave him his life back.” He was honorably discharged in 1946, and decades later, we had the honor of bringing him back to where it all began.
