With negotiations picking up on the $908 billion stimulus package, it’s looking more likely by the day that we’ll see extended enhanced unemployment benefits included in the new bill.

Unfortunately, much like the delay for the FEMA LWA unemployment funds, it could take states days, weeks, or even months to implement the new systems.

Bill McCamley, cabinet secretary of the New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions stated: “The more new rules, the more new regulations, it means we will take longer and that’s just the nature of the game. The simpler it is, the easier it’ll be for us to implement.”

I just hope that this $908 billion stimulus package gains steam in Congress, so that we can finally get some much needed disaster relief funds.

Meanwhile, a recent report from popular professional social media network LinkedIn outlines dozens of major American companies that are hiring at this very moment.

In fact, the article shows that upwards of 1 million jobs are currently up for grabs to help get through the holiday season and into 2021.

If you are currently unemployed and are seeking a new job, here are just a few of the options currently available:

Target plans to hire approximately 130,000 seasonal team members for 2020.

Amazon says it’s hiring more than 100,000 people.

UPS is hiring more than 100,000 people for open positions.

FedEx is hiring people for more than 70,000 roles, including seasonal.

McDonald's is hiring people for more than 50,000 roles.

Please check out the link (https://www.linkedin.com/news/story/heres-whos-hiring-right-now-4525187/) for more details on these jobs, but this seems like a great resource to make some extra money during this holiday season and into the new year.
Finally, the great state of Oklahoma is fighting to provide their state’s unemployment claimants with a 7th week of FEMA LWA unemployment benefits, but this time for $400.

The program, which is called Additional Lost Wages Assistance (ALWA), will give one-time $400 checks to 120,000 eligible Oklahomans.

OESC Executive Director Shelley Zumwalt explained: “We know this has been a difficult year for Oklahomans, and we hope the distribution of these remaining federal funds will further help those in need.”

She continued: “The funding for the ALWA program comes from federal FEMA dollars that we are required to use before the end of the year or it will expire. This funding is not something that OESC can allocate to any other program.”

With the efforts costing roughly $70 million, this is great news for unemployment claimants in Oklahoma, and should be a wake up call to everyone else to demand more LWA from their state representatives.

If you still haven’t applied for unemployment assistance, begin this week on the up and up and apply today.

Simply check out your state’s PUA or UI website, upload your employment history, and let them know that you’ve been out of work due to that thing out there.

In roughly 30 minutes, you could be eligible to receive a backdated unemployment check for up to $20,000.

For all of the gig-workers, self employed, independent contractors, 1099 workers, even side hustlers, volunteers and freelancers, the US government did not forget about y’all so look into the PUA today.

But don’t miss out on your chance to receive these amazing government unemployment benefits, which expire before December 31st.
