SO SCARY! We FLIPPED Rafting Down a Waterfall! New Zealand Road Trip

Kia ora from beautiful NEW ZEALAND, our 32nd country on our around the world trip! We are well underway on our road trip around the North Island of New Zealand. This time we are stopping at Wai-o-Taupo and the Kaituna River in Rotorua for the ultimate white water rafting experience!

We begin our big day of adventure walking through the colorful geothermal area at Wai-o-Tapu. Just south of Rotorua are New Zealand’s most colorful and unique geothermal elements created by thousands of years of geothermal activity. We loved the Artist’s Palate, Champagne Pond and the glowing “slime” green pool.

The big star of the day was white water rafting in Rotorua, NZ! We went out with our awesome guide, Cam, from Rotorua Rafting to raft over the highest commercially rafted waterfall IN THE WORLD! On the Kaituna River you can raft down Tutea Falls, at over 20 feet high, for the ultimate adrenaline rush! It was *flipping* exciting!
