[HD] Amtrak Empire Service Detours In New York City

On Wednesday August 16th I finally got the chance to see the Amtrak detours going into and out of Grand Central Terminal. It's been around 30 years ago since the last time when Amtrak has used Grand Central this is thanks to the on going track infrastructure work at New York Penn Station. In this video you will see the Amtrak detour trains at various locations from 125th street, The High Bridge, Marble Hill, and Spuyten Duyvil. A huge thanks to my dad for tagging along to see these trains with me.

Sorry for zooming / focusing and or being unstable some have been critical of video quality sorry I am not a professional filmographer just a railfan. Some areas you aren't allowed to use tripods, also when filming from the High Bridge I wanted to get some somewhat clear footage showing the locomotive numbers. Note this video says to / from Grand Central it does not say filmed in Grand Central Terminal as it not really a welcomed station to film trains at.
