Retired V8 Supercar champion Larry Perkins likes nothing more than to climb aboard his 4WD truck and head for the Australian Outback. Better still to follow in the path of the early explorers, find their camp sites, experience the isolation.

Hence Larry became fascinated by the story of the Barclay Macpherson expedition and their travels through the remote Simpson Desert. Larry's research indicated that due to the harsh conditions the expedition was forced to abandon over two hundred kilos of equipment, and that this cache of equipment had never been recovered.
