Noreen's Homestead: Homemade Ketchup, My 200th Video!

Greetings! I am excited to present my 200th video! First I want to thank all my followers because without all of you, there would be no channel. I have lots more in store for everyone and every time I turn around I get another idea. So stay tuned for more fun!

Today I am sharing with you my first adventure with making my own homemade ketchup. It was as easy as could be and it is more delicious than the bottled versions you can buy in the store. The main reason that I wanted to try this is two fold. Firstly because Rick has told me many stories of his family getting together and making ketchup over an open fire in a great cauldron. He has fabulous memories of this part of his childhood and it never occurred to me to make my own ketchup. The second is the garden. When the tomatoes start coming in, we do plan on doing tomato sauce, canned tomatoes and salsa, but what else could be done? I think this ketchup is perfect. So we will be saving our glass soda and beer bottles and getting us a bottle capper from the local brew store so that when ketchup time comes around, we will be ready to bottle our own! I hope once you watch this you will give it a try yourself. Even if you just try it once, you can say that you did it and I think you will be very happy with the results!
