Thai PM urges calm as COVID-19 cases surge

Thailand is experiencing a sudden spike in new coronavirus infections. Cases have risen by 382 to more than 800, with most of them linked to Samut Sakhon province. The prime minister has said there are no immediate plans for a wider lockdown. Prayut Chan-o-cha said the government will monitor the situation for a week before taking further action.
