The Desert Articulated | Western Pacific M-100

For being such a small railroad, the vast quantities of goods being transported over the Western Pacific's mainline necessitated the purchase of bigger and bigger freight power. A fine example of this ever increasing requirement for more horsepower can be seen with the WP’s acquisition of seven 4-6-6-4 Challenger type locomotives in January 1938, class M-100.
