Handsome Hudsons | Nickel Plate Road L-1 | WIP Teaser

On February 14th, 1927, a revolutionary new passenger locomotive left the American Locomotive Company, bound for its new home on the New York Central. NYC No. 5200 was the first of many 4-6-4 Hudson type locomotives to be built in the United States. While this new standard in high speed, high horsepower passenger power began to revolutionize the way railroads thought about motive power for their premiere passenger trains, on the erecting floors of ALCo’s Brooks plant, another fleet of 4-6-4s was quietly taking form. Despite being second place, these legendary locomotives would become the Nickel Plate Roads new magnificent passenger power: The class L-1 Hudson.

A short video showcasing the NKP L-1 Hudson, currently a work in progress. It will be available on Trainz Forge when it is complete.
