Echo & The Bunnymen - Royal Albert Hall, London - 1st June 2018

One of the things I miss living overseas is the live music scene in the UK so, on returning to England for a short visit, I was happy to see that Echo & The Bunnymen were playing at the Royal Albert Hall - one of my favourite bands at one of my favourite venues. A lot of water has passed under the bridge since I first saw them in the 80s but Mac and Will have still got it and the audience loved it. I once had the misfortune to be at a gig in Cambridge when Mac walked off stage (not to return) when someone heckled him during the opening refrains of Ocean Rain so it was good to hear them give a good performance of that song accompanied by a string section and with Mac still able to hit those top notes, although Will’s guitar was a bit quiet from where I was. I had quite a good seat so took a few video clips which I’ve put together here.
