WILDLIFE PHOTOGRAPHY - Searching for and PHOTOGRAPHING RIVER OTTERS. Otter behavior and habits.

There are few species of animal that I've spent more time looking for and observing over the years than North American River Otters. Every year I spend multiple weeks dedicated to just looking for these playful animals. Given the time and effort I put into locating and trying to photograph these critters, I actually have very few images. Over the span of a few days on an Otter outing, I was lucky enough to get a few images and even some video. I hope I can be as lucky again the next time I go out looking for these amazing animals.

Otters can be very easily disturbed by human interaction/behavior. When observing and photographing these animals, it's extremely important that you do so respectfully and from a distance. As always, please put the animal's comfort and safety over your own desire for that great image.
