Waste Management tour and USWX 400 cab ride

We are at the Waste Management facility in the Bushwick neighborhood of Brooklyn, where we take a tour of the waste container loading facility. The tour was sponsored by Waste Management, with tents set up by Waste Management, New York & Atlantic, who serves the compound, and the North Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce, which was there to show how they were partnering with Waste Management to help clean up Brooklyn. Kathryn Garcia, the Commissioner of the Department of Sanitation came to talk, as did local Assemblyman Joe Lentol, NYA President James Bonner, and officials from Waste Management. On exhibit was USWX 400, a rebuilt B&O GP40, which was rebuilt by Knoxville Locomotive Works in October of 2018. The model is called an SE23B-M T4L, and is a Tier 4 Locomotive powered by a 2300 horsepower MTU 12V4000 R54 engine. The engine is owned by Waste Management but operated by NYA crews. We also see Slug Mate 010, which was rebuilt from an old MoPac SW9, and NYA caboose 52. There were also trips being offered to those in attendance; most rode in the caboose, but those who asked were allowed to ride in the cab. The train ran along the Bushwick Branch from the Waste Management compound to just outside of the yard limits for Fresh Pond Yard. The first run of three for the day was taken in the cab, and we see the ride from beginning to end. We then see the part of the ride back to the compound. Once the day was done, the equipment went back to Fresh Pond Yard. Enjoy the view of the festivities, as well as the view from the cab of the 400.
