1:19 You are at the CSX Mile Post 41 curve on 21 July 2021as CSX train #K682 rounds the curve from the west on track #2as a LORAM shoulder cleaning machine sits on track #1 waiting for CSX train #K682 to pass. The engineer of CSX train #K682 blows his horn as he comes past the LORAM shoulder cleaning machine and continues to blow the horn as he continues east because there is additional Maintenance of Way equipment on track #1. CSX train #K682 is an as needed train that picks up loaded ethanol tank cars from the Union Pacific's Proviso Yard located in Melrose Park, Illinois and takes the loaded tank cars to Motiva in Sewaren, New Jersey.
3:41 You are still at the CSX Mile Post 41 curve on 21 July 2021 as CSX train #Q567 comes off the west end of the elevated tracks through Dunkirk, New York on track #2 past the Maintenance of Way equipment working on track #1. The engineer is blowing the horn as he moves past the Maintenance of Way equipment to warn the operators that there is a train passing them.
6:51 You are at the Berry Road crossing in Pomfret, New York at the Norfolk Southern tracks as Norfolk Southern train #206, a double stack train, which is powered by two Union Pacific engines passes.
7:47 We hear a horn blowing and you turn to your right toward the CSX tracks as CSX train #Q166 passes. CSX train #Q166 is the daily Canadian Pacific run through double stack train from the Schiller Park Yard in Schiller Park, Illinois to Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
8:23 The Norfork Southern train #206 finishes passing Berry Road.
9:01 A mid-train DPU appeared on CSX train #Q166.
10:05 You are at the CSX Mile Post 41 curve and we see the LORAM shoulder cleaning machine working to clean the ballast on the sides of the tracks on track #1. The dirt and junk that is cleaned out of the ballast is sent on a conveyor that dumps the crude over track #2 and onto the ground past the ballast supporting track #2.
11:51 You are at the CSX Temple Road crossing as the gates go down and you look to the west as CSX train #Q008, an eastbound double stack train comes past.
15:14 You are along the elevated tracks at CSX Control Point 39 at Mile Post 40.1 as the LORAM shoulder cleaning machine moves east toward the CSX Dunkirk Yard to park for the night.
18:16 You are at the Berry Road crossing in Pomfret, New York looking across the CSX tracks at the Lowered gates at the Norfolk Southern crossing. We see that a truck is caught between the CSX and Norfolk Southern tracks going south on Berry Road. at 18:22 you pan to your left along the CSX tracks as CSX train #Q367 approaches from the east on its way west.
Thank you for documenting these trains and the LORAM shoulder cleaner as it was working to clean the ballast along the sides of the rails on track #1 at the CSX Mile Post 41 curve. Watching the LORAM shoulder cleaner work was an amazing sight. Thank you for sharing this video!
