HowTo Do An Ina Bauer On Ice - Figure Skating Tutorial

Hello Skaters! Today, to celebrate my birthday this month, I am going to teach you one of my favorite skating moves, the Ina Bauer. This is a beautiful gliding maneuver, the developed as a variation from the spread eagle. It was invented by a German Skater -Ina Bauer, and so the move is named after her. She was born in the 1940s and won the East German National title 3 years in a row during the 1950s. I hope you enjoy the move, I can't wait to see your versions on Instagram!

Coach Julia has been skating (first on roller and then on ice) for over 30 years. She was a competitive skater until she turned 21 when she got her first contract as a professional show skater. Julia has been a figure skating coach for 15 years, is a USFS Gold Medalist in Moves in the Field, and an ISI Gold Level certified judge. She has held positions as the Skating Director of the largest skating program in the United States, as well as Head Coach at two different skating clubs.
