Tower Construction for a 1000m Class Canyon Suspension Bridge

These shots show the full process of the Tianmen Mega Bridge, from tower construction to completion. In the narrow canyon, two 100-meter concrete towers rise via simultaneous slip-form construction, stabilized by red temporary bracing. Tower cranes lift rebar and formwork to the top, where workers tie steel and pour concrete on high-altitude platforms. Once the towers are topped out, the red main cables are strung, forming a suspension bridge spanning the canyon with a main span over 1000 meters and a deck height over 300 meters above the valley floor. Every construction step battles rugged terrain, strong winds, and temperature changes. Slip-form technology ensures tower verticality, while precise cable installation determines the bridge’s structural safety. More than just a river crossing, this bridge is a key project breaking through mountain transportation barriers, turning an impassable chasm into an open path.
