Baby Seal PROTECTS His Mom

Ocean Conservation Namibia (OCN) rescued two seals successfully from fishing line.
The first seal had a piece of white nylon string with a know wrapped around her neck. While Antoine and Naude catch the mother with their net, the pup stays close by and attempts to scare them aware to protect its mom. Immediately after the rescue, mother and baby reunite and run off to freedom.
The second seal had a piece of fishing line wrapped around it's neck. Even a thin fishing line like this one can cause major damage and eventually lead to the seal's death. Luckily this one got away. Not without a fight, it almost came for Naude before they managed to catch it and cut it free.
This case of entanglement is another symptom of climate change, ocean rubbish and plastic pollution. Human misconduct has led to animal abuse - please always pick up rubbish wherever you go, no matter how small it is.
The wound is quite deep, but the seal will have a full recovery.
