Robert Storr, senior curator in the department of Painting and Sculpture at the Museum of Modern Art, moderates a discussion with artist, Jeff Koons. The discussion is the first part of the 2002 Artists’ Visions lecture series. Koons shares slides of his work and discusses the development of his style over time. He explains how his work and exhibitions typically focus on specific themes, such as “equilibrium” and “banality.” Koons also comments on his use and eventual abandonment of “ready-made” objects in his sculptures. Storr asks Koons specifically about the scale of his work, his creative influences, and the intellectualization of art. The discussion is followed with questions from the audience.

Recorded on April 8, 2002 at The 92nd Street Y, New York.
