Testing watercolor ground on canvas, Daniel Smith Watercolor Ground and Qor Ground

In this video I try to use Daniel Smith Transparent Watercolor Ground and Qor Cold Press Watercolor Ground for the first time. Neither of these came with detailed directions on how to use watercolor ground however the Daniel Smith website provides more detailed information on how to use watercolor ground. You can use a dedicated brush or a sponge, I use a foam brush. These two grounds are very different. The Daniel Smith Transparent Watercolor Ground is thinner and a cloudy white color. It goes on easily and dries very transparently. The Qor ground is thicker and slightly harder to apply smoothly because it has cold press texture.

Two days after I applied the watercolor ground to the canvas I return to paint on the canvases. I used the Faber Castell Albrecht Dürer Magnus Watercolor Pencils to create a cute little mini canvas painting.
