Van Troubles AGAIN!

This week we run into some more van troubles. After dodging some winter weather in our last vlog and making our way south, we return to state number 2 in our mission to see all 50 states: Arizona. This time we’re exploring the massive cacti at Saguaro National Park. From there we have our first wild camping experience in Las Cruces, New Mexico – a new state in our mission – number 23! Next stop in New Mexico is White Sands National Park, where sledding on the sand dunes did not quite go as expected.

Speaking of things not going to plan, the first of our van troubles cause us to skip our planned visit to Roswell, NM, because we had to run Ace to the nearest dealership for some quick maintenance. That was all the way down in in El Paso, Texas. Then, more troubles as we had to pull over and tend to fluid levels at a famous art installation – Prada Marfa – outside of Marfa, TX. We spend the afternoon exploring the charming and artistic town of Marfa, including a fantastic pizza at Para Llevar. We spend another night boondocking and have a go at spotting the infamous Marfa Lights. Did we see them? Tune in to find out!

We wrap this week's vlog with a quick stop at Hot Springs National Park in Arkansas. No bathing for us this time, but we did resolve to return and give ourselves more time here.
