Considering a used Tesla? Here are 4 tips that might help you with your decision:

Tip #1: I recommend focusing on the range you need. Media and marketing tells us we need a lot of range but when we look at the facts of our actual usage, we often realise that’s not the case. A lot of used Teslas have already more than 200 miles in range, that’s about 320 km.

Tip #2: Getting a warranty is recommendable. New Teslas get a 4 year warranty and an 8 year battery warranty with the mileage depending on the model. Repairs rarely occur but if they do, Tesla covers it, when it falls under the warranty, which it usually does.

Apart from the warranty, I recommend not to focus too much on the year of the car, rather check the features. As opposed to other manufacturer Tesla doesn’t update their models on a yearly basis. So a 2020 model is the same as a 2021 model.

Tip #3: Third-party websites are an option. Buying from Tesla directly adds another 2 years of warranty to a refurbished Tesla.

Tip #4: Be prepared to replace the tires every 25,000 miles.
