Hartlepool Tall Ships 2023

Mark Lloyd Jewellers created all of the trophies for the Tall Ships races that came to our home town of Hartlepool in 2010. We had never made a trophy before so the challenge was to design and create identical trophies for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in four categories, using materials we had never used before wood, acrylic, brass and enamels. Help was on hand from local companies Xander Doors Ltd who supplied the wood and cut it to size, Optimum cut the clear acrylic into sail shapes and R.J.B Coatings spray lacquered the wood. All engraving into the wood and the brass was done in house by Nick the master machine engraver. This video documents the making of those trophies which took months from design concept to completion.
