Broken picture frame 2

I had a whole bunch of scrap wood leftover from my first broken picture frame. I didn't want the pieces to go to waste so I got to thinking about how I could use them for another picture frame. It was really the small pieces that gave me the most inspiration for this frame. I decided that on this picture frame I would cut bigger pieces and glue the smaller pieces in between them to create the "broken" effect. I really enjoyed making both of my broken picture frames and I know there are a lot more possibilities to create different variations of these types of frames so I'm hoping to make more of them in the future. The great thing about making something that's intended to look broken is that there's no pressure to create something "perfect". This gives me a lot of freedom and flexibility to experiment and have fun....and not worry about making mistakes. The beauty of these types of frames is the combination of all the "mistakes" working together to create the art :) And although artist's can be very critical of their own work it's really up to the viewer to decide what's a mistake and what's not.
