How To Use FIRE To Harden and Protect Your WOODEN Tool Handles

Thank you so much for watching, I hope you enjoyed this, if you did, you know what to do =)
This process (as near as I can tell originated in Japan, and is called "shou sugi ban" the idea is to both beautify and protect wooden handles. I understand that this way of fire hardening, or wood charing isn't for everyone, but for me, I happen to really like the way it looks, and feels. I very much do not like varnished or polished wooden handles.

This is an age old blacksmithing technique that creates a very durable and protected handle for all your wooden tools, not to mention it just looks so good!
Thank you for watching!
