E.coli are the most common cause of UTI.
Women are at greater risk of developing UTI than men, because the urethra is shorter & closer to the anus in females.
Symptoms of UTI are :
Frequent urination.
Dysuria - painful urination.
Hematuria - Blood in urine.
Urinary incontinence.
Retention of urine.
Fever with chills & rigors.
Burning urination.
Foul or bad smell urine.
Pain over loin or suprapubic region.
