I don't even know where to start with this description. Editing this video was so hard but I hope by sharing Jackson’s story and our Journey with HLHS and Stillbirth it can help someone else going through the same thing. Watching similar video’s, and hearing all of your stories has really helped both Matt and I with our healing process and our hope is we can help yours too. Our hearts are broken and we miss our sweet baby Jackson so much, but being selfish and putting him through all that pain (if he made it though birth) didn’t seem fair to us. To have Samuel watch his brother in so much pain and/or not make it didn’t seem fair.. Some will disagree and thats ok, some have never been in our shoes, some have. Everyone has their own story and this is ours. Please be kind with your comments both to us and to each other. Our hearts are still broken (will always be broken) and we did the best we could and what we thought was right as loving parents to both of our beautiful boys.

After many talks with Doctors, Midwives, Parents who have been through the same thing, (some of who followed our path and others that went on to have their babies with some surviving and some not) we made the most difficult decision any parent can be forced to make. We chose to take away our sweet Jackson’s pain and suffering and carry that in our hearts for the rest of our lives and to let him rest pain free and in peace and only knowing the love we have for him. It was a decision that broke our hearts, one that we will carry with us always. There are no right choices when it comes to this horrible and non curable condition, yes there are many operations that can (in some cases) have great results, but ultimately all it is, is palliative care.

Our sweet baby boy Jackson Bradford Archdall was born sleeping on March 15,2018. He was 330g, 25cm long and the most precious little boy we had ever seen. He looked so much like his Big Brother, had the same facial features, had the same wonky pointer toe as his big brother which is something we take comfort in. I was able to deliver him myself, something I will cherish forever. I was so determined the day Jackson (our little Jacky-poo) was born was going to be a day of love, a day of peace. I wanted him born into a calm and happy room, a room full of love, not a room of pain, sadness and regret. He deserved that. The following days were not so positive, our new normal has been a very hard and sad adjustment. There will always be regret and what if’s but I take comfort in knowing we did what we thought was best for our sweet boys.

Today, March 26th 2018 we are laying our sweet baby to rest. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time for our family.

Again please be cautious with your comments, this was and is our baby, a baby that was so loved, wanted and needed. We just wanted to share our story in hope that it can help someone else going through the same thing.
