In Memory of Our Angel Baby, Lydia Jaelle - Stillborn at 30 weeks on October 13, 2014
My daughter, Lydia Jaelle Barkley, was born sleeping at 30 weeks gestation on October 13, 2014. She passed away due to an umbilical cord accident. I created this slideshow to honor Lydia and share the precious moments my husband and I had with her, starting from my pregnancy until the day she was born. We miss our little girl more than words can say, but we find peace knowing that she is now wrapped in the arms of Jesus in Heaven.
I hope that, in some way, this slideshow will help to raise awareness about stillbirth. Approximately 3 million babies are stillborn each year throughout the world. In the U.S., that's one baby, one family, every 21 minutes. (gapps.org) There needs to be more research into the causes of stillbirth so this can be prevented. Please visit gapps.org to learn more or donate to the cause. Help break the silence.
Counting your baby's movements daily during the third trimester of pregnancy is a free and reliable way to monitor your baby's well-being and prevent stillbirth. If you are currently pregnant, please download the Count the Kicks! app on your smartphone and visit http://www.countthekicks.org for more information about the importance of kick counting and how to do it. Counting your baby's kicks could save his or her life or prevent unexpected birth complications!
I also encourage you to learn more about and donate to Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep (NILMDTS), a non-profit organization that provides free professional photography to families experiencing the loss of an infant. The majority of the photos of Lydia in this slideshow were taken by Carmen Ash Photography, provided through NILMDTS. We will cherish the photos of our angel forever.
The beautiful song playing during the slideshow is "I Will Carry You (Audrey's Song)" by Selah.
