🚆 Relaxing summer evening train ride (Cab ride Switzerland | Solothurn RB - RBL marshalling yard)

Summer is here and oh boy how it turned up. After a cold and wet spring, it got hot really quick. Hop into the comfortably cooled locomotive and join me on this trip! We're running solo, without wagons, since the locomotive has to be repositioned. It is not a standard Re 420, but one with an automatic coupler. Later the same evening, it came into service again and pulled a a freight train. The train was also equipped with an automatic coupler and such a modified locomotive was therefore needed.

We start in Solothurn marshalling yard and with only 84t of weight, it's going to be a rather quick trip through the beautiful landscape. It is a late summer evening and we're headed eastwards. The sun is setting behind us, lighting our way beautifully and giving us some shadowplay to enjoy. Our terminus is the Limmattal marshalling yard, abbreviated as RBL (Rangierbahnhof Limmattal). It is the biggest marshalling yard in Switzerland and you'll be able to experience some insights into this huge facility at the end of the video. Enjoy the ride!
