There is a lot of ‘uncertainty’ around RBA cutting rates before the end of year

AMP Chief Economist Shane Oliver says there is a lot of “uncertainty” around the RBA cutting interest rates before the end of the year.

Annual inflation dipped to 3.6 per cent in the year to March.

It is down from 4.1 per cent in the 12 months to December.

Economists say the result exceeded market expectations.

It means inflation is likely to fall slower toward the RBA’s goal of two to three per cent.
