Jim's death (Rockstar Logic - GTA IV)

Reviewing the events surrounding Jim Fitzgerald's death while wondering what the hell was Rockstar thinking while working on this part of the storyline.

1. Why did Jim return to the same alley after saying he is going to get the brothers? and why didn't he stay with Johnny?
2. Why didn't he go to (or called) Terry or Clay? which were clearly able to help Johnny fighting off Ray's goons.
3. Why did R* use the same biker model in GTA IV and in TLaD, but in IV it was Jim while in TLaD it wasn't Jim? *the bald guy in GTA IV is Jim since one body was identified as Jim and the other was not, and logic dictates that the one shot would be easier to identify than the one blown up. (but then again, logic is very much absent in this mess)
4. It was never clearly explained what happened to the money Johnny gave Jim.

How did Rockstar make such a huge oversight?
