Armor Penetration Simulation
90mm T33 AP vs 100mm, 250BHN armor plate at 57 degrees. Impact velocity - 900m/s
The Johnson-Cook plasticity and failure model is successfully used in ballistic simulations of modern projectiles. The theme of World War II projectiles is more captivating as the projectiles liked to shatter at high velocity and/or high angle of impact. Therefore, this simulation should be considered as an idealization of the penetration process. I gonna try to model spalling failure under shock loading.
