Five percent of women world-wide are impacted by uterine factor infertility - meaning they can’t carry a baby because their uterus is either absent or non functional. Scientists have been speculating since the 60s about the possibility of uterine transplant but the procedure has only become a reality in recent years. Now with clinical trials approved a group of trailblazing women are hoping to be part of Australia’s first uterine transplant program.
