A Georgia handyman has found an unusual solution to rising fuel costs by transforming a discarded pink Barbie-style toy car into a functioning vehicle. Mali Hightower rescued a broken Power Wheels Dream Camper from the trash and modified it by installing a small gas-powered engine originally designed for a power washer.
The custom-built mini vehicle now serves as an alternative to his regular transportation, a 1996 Mercedes-Benz convertible that reportedly costs about $90 to fill. Despite its toy-like appearance, the pink ride can reach speeds of up to 35 miles per hour and has quickly become a local attraction.
