HKMU - Insight Forum: The Future of Hong Kong as a Regional Innovation Hub

In this Insight Forum organized by Our Hong Kong Foundation, various guests will discuss the current situation and outlook for Hong Kong’s development in the innovation industry. To kick off the forum, Mr Paul Chan, the Hong Kong Financial Secretary, will introduce the government’s participation and upcoming plans in developing the innovation and I&T sectors.

The second speaker is Dr Victor Fung, vice-chairman of Our Hong Kong Foundation and the group chairman of Fung Group. He will define the essential steps in the process of innovation, and how Hong Kong can make use of its advantages and position itself to stay innovative and competitive.

Finally, is a panel discussion between Dr Victor Fung and three giants in the innovation sector. They are Dr Sunny Chai, chairman of the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation; Dr George Lam, co-chairman at Hong Kong Aerospace Technology Group, who is also the former chairman of Hong Kong Cyberport Management Company Limited; and Mr Simon Loong, Founder and Group CEO of WeLab. They will share their firsthand experience creating projects or businesses with a focus on promoting innovation and analyze the outlook for Hong Kong’s development in order to stay competitive in the region.
