Questions raised over PM's $4 billion plan to double support for critical minerals

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has announced a plan to double the government’s support for the critical minerals sector – up to $4 billion.

Specifically, the Prime Minister wants Australia’s industry to go up the value chain.

The move would shift the sector into more production where there’s more money to be made.

Mr Albanese announced the plan during his visit to the United States.

Sky News Business Editor Ross Greenwood has questioned whether the plan is “realistic”.

“Given the scale required to actually make real money out of these key areas,” he said.
