A special trip report from takeoff to landing, as we fly North towards the Faroe Islands and enter a hold, giving passengers the unique opportunity to witness the Aurora Borealis from FL380. Enjoy a night departure from runway 26L and gaze at the stars as an astronomer provides commentary. Then, after the pilots inside the cockpit turn off external lights and the cabin crew tape the seatbelt signs to ensure a fully dark cabin, enjoy the sight of the Aurora as viewed from an airplane, before returning to land on the same runway.
Aurora 2023 was an event organised by easyJet and Aerobility, a charity aiming to help disabled people chase their dreams of becoming pilots.
