Adaptive Equipment Event | Touring Chicago

We had the opportunity to go to the Abilities Expo in Chicago about 3 weeks ago in June. It was our first time going to an adaptive event since we've been together. It was a lot of fun and we got to talk to a lot of vendors that come and present new wheelchair equipment, home modification type of material, and just adaptive equipment in general. At the Abilities Expo they also have guest speakers and our favorite one was by Christian Bagg who invented a battery-powered trike that can be used by paraplegics to access the outdoors. We’re Kasey & Andrea. A Minnesotan and Salvadorian husband and wife living and loving life in Minnesota, USA. We live an adaptive lifestyle that allows us to be active, independent, and live life to the fullest.

We’ve been together a total of 8 years and going into our 4th year of marriage. Through all of these years together (and with Kasey’s 28 years of living with Spina Bifida) we have learned A LOT about adaptive equipment and products, and multiple ways on how to modify things around our homes and lives.

We have traveled to different parts of North and Latin America so far and planning to adventure a lot more in the near future.
We created this blog to share with others our personal experience with living an active and independent adapted life. We’ll be sharing adaptive product and equipment reviews of what we have used in the past; posts of some of the most fun places we’ve been able to visit during our travels. Last but not least, we’ll also share content regarding Kasey’s weight loss journey and adaptive fitness and exercise ideas.

We’re extremely excited to be able to reach out AND also learn from others who are living an adaptive life to the fullest!
