How to be more Confident in Sales and not Cocky

Don’t Run Over Customers. Overly bold selling tactics won’t close many deals. Today’s customers are more savvy and educated than ever before. Prospective buyers want salesperson who’s knowledgeable about their products and services and can provide a great experience. Take time to understand your prospect, their needs, and adjust your pitch accordingly. Slow down. Pace yourself. Be a little humble.

What kind of problems are your customers experiencing? What are their pain points? Do they have a problem they want to solve? This is the qualification step. If you are skipping this step, then you are being too confident and probably too pushy.

Here are problem-solving tips:
1) Identify the problem.
2) How is the problem affecting the customer?
3) Does the customer wants a solution? What are their goals?
4) What is the decision making criteria?
5) As you present solution and get customer buy-in:
“I can solve the problem with (product/service). What do you think?”
