Cavalier King Charles with syringomyelia

This is Phoebe, she presented with severe 'itching' that would get worse when she was excited or when she was scratched around her neck. Her skin and ears are perfectly normal and we suspect she actually has syringomyelia-a malformation of her skull that causes compression of the brain. The 'itching' is actually a form of a focal motor seizure. The owners also report that she often circles and stares at the wall and holds her head to one side. She is headed to the neurologist for an evaluation and MRI.
