Texas tornado kills at least two people as wildfires still rage in parts of Georgia

A powerful tornado in Wise County, Texas killed at least two people and injured several others as it caused widespread damage to neighborhoods and displaced dozens of families.

Emergency crews faced blocked roads and downed utilities while responding, and officials warned that more severe storms and possible flash flooding could continue across the region.

The outbreak is part of a larger system of extreme weather across the central United States, which has produced dozens of tornadoes, hailstorms, and additional injuries in recent days.

Meanwhile, in southeastern Georgia, massive wildfires fueled by drought and wind have burned tens of thousands of acres and destroyed over 100 homes, The Guardian has reported.

Authorities say the fires, some caused by human activity, remain difficult to contain as crews battle multiple blazes across the region.
