DNA results of EHGs 10/12 (MN2003)

Traversing vast swathes of Eurasia from around 10,000 to 5,000 years ago, Eastern Hunter-Gatherers, or EHG for short, were a distinct population known for their mobile way of life. Stretching from the Baltic Sea to the Ural Mountains and down to the Pontic-Caspian steppe, they weren't tethered to permanent settlements. Instead, their existence revolved around hunting wild animals and gathering seasonal plant and insect resources. Despite seeming simple, theirs was a life demanding deep ecological knowledge and a sophisticated toolkit for hunting, crafting, and survival. They are believed to be ancestral to many modern European and Asian populations, leaving an indelible mark on the continent's genetic makeup.
