EN - At Govert Finckstraat 349 in Amsterdam, in the middle of the Pipe, Herman van Delden started a stable in 1888. The business grew rapidly, with a second shop at Huidekoperstraat 23. However, the need for motorized transport became less and less, while the demand for cars increased. In 1959, the company decided to change course. At one big auction, most of the horses, carriages and sleighs came under the hammer. This sale attracted a lot of attention and made headlines. NL - Aan de Govert Finckstraat 349 in Amsterdam, midden in de Pijp, begint Herman van Delden in 1888 een stalhouderij. Het bedrijf groeide snel, en zo kwam er een tweede stal aan de Huidekoperstraat 23. Echter werd de behoefte aan rijtuigvervoer steeds minder, terwijl de vraag naar auto’s toenam. In 1959 koos het bedrijf definitief voor een andere koers. Op een grote veiling kwam het grootste deel van de paarden, rijtuigen en tuigen onder de hamer.
