Ken Fisher Shares his Stock Market Forecast for the Rest of 2021
In his latest video, Fisher Investments’ founder and Co-Chief Investment Officer Ken Fisher shares his stock market forecast for the remainder of the year. Ken says the US economy is returning to a slow-growth mode after having bounced back from lockdown-driven economic constrictions.
Because the 2020 bear market was so short in duration, Ken believes the new bull market is acting much more like an extension of the prior bull market that began in 2009. That means stocks that tend to do well in a low-economic growth environment should be rewarded, favoring growth stocks versus value.
Ken Fisher believes an underappreciated bullish market driver is a gridlocked political environment, especially in the US, which should reduce legislative uncertainty for companies. Democrats’ margins in Congress are incredibly tight and any disagreement, or dissenters, within the Democratic party likely means a bill won’t pass.
As the pace of economic growth decelerates, coupled with relatively few political risks ahead, Ken believes investors should focus on the longer-term trend, which likely means emphasizing big, high-quality stocks.
