Burrowing Owls are generally native to America. Unusually, they spend most of their time on the ground or occasionally will sit on low tree branches.

They prefer open countryside, especially short grass prairies and lowland desert. They can live up to 9 years old, although with their natural preference as mentioned, they are becoming increasingly vulnerable to many dangers.
From bigger owls, falcons and many predatory animals, not to mention vehicles.

There are three different pairs here at the Farm Park and they are all very cheeky and they tend to bob their heads up and down when they are excited!
