Seed starting tomatoes as a scrappy gardener - 3 month update

3 month update: tomatoes growing and ripening soon— manage pest population and prune sick lower leaves.

Seed starting tips series: seed starting tomatoes isn’t straight forward: Tomatoes like it warm (60-80F) but need to be started 2.5 months before last frost date to maximize harvest. I tried the paper towel method to minimize paper towel root entanglement. Tomato seeds can sprout in initial darkness. And move them to micro soil blocks where they can grow for the next 2 weeks outdoors (when weather is agreeable).

I’m a north Texas scrappy urban cottage and food gardener, home cook, and mountain enthusiast. I grow in the sunniest part which is my front lawn and like to start most my seeds in containers before planting in ground.
